As part of efforts to strengthen synergy with the government sector, the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, conducted a courtesy visit to the Office of Agriculture and Food Security of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DPKP DIY) on Wednesday, July 17, 2025.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Budi Widayanto, M.Si., together with the faculty and department leadership, was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Office, Ir. Syam Arjayanti, M.P.A., the Office Secretary, Wiwin Suryawati, S.P., M.P., and staff members of DPKP DIY.
The meeting aimed to explore potential collaborations in education, research, and community service—particularly in the areas of sustainable agricultural development, farmer capacity building, and agricultural technology innovation.
In his remarks, the Dean stated:
“Today’s activity is part of the ongoing cooperation between the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta, and DPKP DIY. Through this meeting, we hope to continue exploring the potential of both institutions to develop strategic programs in the future.”
Several points were discussed during the meeting, including: internship and fieldwork opportunities for students; collaborative research and community service projects focused on farmer empowerment; and opportunities for DPKP DIY staff to pursue master’s degree programs at the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta.
Through this visit, the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, reaffirmed its commitment to bridging academic knowledge with community needs and to strengthening the active role of universities in regional development—particularly in the agricultural sector.
