On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, held the Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus Bela Negara (PKKBN) or Campus Life and State Defense Orientation for the 2025 cohort of new students. The event was attended by all 680 new students of the Faculty of Agriculture, consisting of 153 from Soil Science, 295 from Agrotechnology, and 232 from Agribusiness. The program was fully supported by the faculty leadership, lecturers, educational staff, student committees, and student organizations.
PKKBN is an official university program designed to introduce students to the academic environment, learning systems, and instill the spirit of state defense, which is the hallmark of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The series of activities began with an opening ceremony that included a joint prayer, the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Mars Bela Negara, and Mars UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The ceremony continued with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Faculty PKK Committee, the Chairperson of the Faculty PKK, the President of the Faculty Student Executive Board (BEM), and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.
Following this, faculty members delivered presentations on academic regulations and services, financial policies and facilities, as well as community service programs and student activity development. The next session featured an inspiring talk show with outstanding students, Duta Wimaya, and successful alumni from various study programs who shared their academic and professional experiences. New students were also introduced to the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Agriculture.
In the afternoon, participants joined a road trip activity that included visits to laboratories, greenhouses, and Student Study Groups (KSM), accompanied by simulations, interactive sessions, and team-building games. Through PKKBN 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta aims to help new students adapt well to the academic environment, foster a sense of togetherness, and internalize the values of state defense throughout their campus life.
