THE MEANING OF INTEGRITY ZONE
Based on the Regulation of the Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia No. 90 of 2021 on the Development and Evaluation of Integrity Zones Toward Corruption-Free Areas and Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Areas within Government Institutions, the following is an explanation of the Integrity Zone, Corruption-Free Area, and Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area: Integrity Zone (ZI) refers to a status granted to government institutions whose leaders and staff are committed to creating a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) or a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) through bureaucratic reform. The main goal is to achieve clean, accountable governance and excellent public service.
- Corruption-Free Area (WBK) is a designation awarded to work units or departments that have successfully implemented bureaucratic reforms, fulfilled most improvement criteria within the enabler components, and realized clean, accountable governance as well as excellent public service.
- Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) is a designation awarded to work units or departments that have implemented bureaucratic reforms at a very high level, met most of the improvement criteria within the enabler components, and achieved clean, accountable governance along with excellent public service.
In general, the development of Integrity Zones toward WBK and WBBM, as the focus of bureaucratic reform implementation, is directed toward two main objectives:
- The creation of clean and accountable governance, and
- The realization of excellent public service.
In the process of developing an Integrity Zone, each work unit or department must meet several indicators, which are divided into two major components: enabler components and result components.
